Crema museum honored with important award from Lombardy region


The Region of Lombardy has awarded an important prize to the Museo Civico di Crema e del Cremasco, where an exhibition dedicated to xylographer Emilio Mantelli was on display until a few hours ago.

Just hours after the conclusion of the exhibition Una bizzarra bellezza. Emilio Mantelli and European Graphics, on display in the Museo Civico di Crema e del Cremasco until Dec. 11, the Lombardy Region has rewarded the coherence and cultural commitment of the Lombard museum venue with an important recognition. In fact, the exhibition project is given a contribution of 14 thousand euros, the result of applications under the regional call for educational and cultural promotion 2022 (B.U.R.L. no. 49 of Dec. 9, 2022).

Curated by Edoardo Fontana and produced by the Museo Civico di Crema e del Cremasco, the exhibition aimed to make people discover the artistic and human story of xylographer Emilio Mantelli (Genoa, 1884 - Verona, 1918), in the context of the rich panorama ofItalian and European engraving of the early twentieth century, of which Mantelli was a leading figure and one of the most significant artists.
