Francesca Guerisoli is the new director of the Lissone Museum of Contemporary Art.

Critic and journalist Francesca Guerisoli is the new director of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) in Lissone (Monza-Brianza), one of the most important contemporary art museums in Lombardy. The newly appointed director will take office in September and will hold her position for the next two years. The examining board, after evaluating the 44 applications received, recognized “in the figure of Dr. Guerisoli the professionalism and skills that are indispensable today for the management of such an important and significant contemporary art museum institution.” Guerisoli will succeed Alberto Zanchetta in his position.

An art historian, critic and independent curator, Francesca Guerisoli graduated in 2004 from the University of Bologna in Disciplines of Art, Music and Entertainment (DAMS), specializing in art, with a thesis in museology and a grade of 110 cum laude, and then furthered her education by graduating from the School of Specialization in Art History at theCatholic University of Milan (70 and cum laude) and with a doctorate in Communication and New Technologies - Evolution of Artistic Languages at Iulm University in Milan. Her research interests include the relationship of art with social and political dimensions and art in public spaces.

In his career he has curated several exhibitions at different Milanese galleries as well as in public cultural spaces (such as Palazzo Ducale in Genoa, the Museum of Contemporary Art “Villa Croce” in Genoa and others), he is an adjunct lecturer at the University of Milan-Bicocca, collaborated in the museum field with the Documentation Center of Museology and Museography of the International Council of Museums (2007-2010) and curated the creation of the provincial network Monza Brianza Musei. As a journalist, she collaborates with IlSole24Ore’s Arteconomy and Arte e Critica. She is also the author of numerous essays on contemporary art.
