In Turin, the staff of the Pinacoteca Agnelli is renewed: Sarah Cosulich is the new director, who will be joined by 30-year-old Lucrezia Calabrò Visconti (Curatorial Department), Beatrice Zanelli (Collection and Educational Projects) and Gloria Bartoli (Communications).

New blood for Pinacoteca Agnelli in Turin, which has a new director, Sarah Cosulich, and creates three new departments that complete the institutional structure with the addition of new professionals to the staff. Sarah Cosulich has held various positions of responsibility for important cultural institutions in Italy and abroad: she was director of Artissima, the International Contemporary Art Fair, for five editions from 2012 to 2016, artistic director of the Rome Quadriennale from 2017 to 2021, and curator of the Quadriennale d’Arte 2020 FUORI. Cosulich will be joined by three young people: in developing exhibitions she will be able to count on Lucrezia Calabrò Visconti, curator and head of the Curatorial Department, while Beatrice Zanelli will lead the Collection and Educational Projects Department and Gloria Bartoli will head the Communication and External Relations Department. Under the new director, Pinacoteca Agnelli will develop a comprehensive program of initiatives that will kick off in spring 2022.

Lucrezia Calabrò Visconti (Desenzano del Garda, 1990), curator and head of the Curatorial Department, holds a degree in Visual and Performing Arts and specializes in Curatorial Studies and Practices and Critical Theory of Society. A curator and critic, she has curated exhibitions and public programs in various institutions in Italy and abroad. In 2018 she was the curator of the 6th Moscow International Biennale for Young Art. From 2018 to 2021 she worked at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo as head of the Young Curators Residency Program. She is co-founder and currently vice president of AWI - Art Workers Italia. Beatrice Zanelli (Bologna, 1982), head of Collection, Education and Editorial Coordination, has a degree in History and Protection of Archaeological and Historic-Artistic Heritage, with a PhD in History of Architecture and Urban Planning. She is an art historian and independent curator. In 2010 she founded Arteco, an association with which, among other curatorial projects, she develops art-historical research and collaborates in the conception of educational activities for numerous museum institutions in Turin. Since 2014 he has been teaching at IED Turin and since 2020 he has been curating the exhibition programming of the G.A. Pinacoteca. Levis in Chiomonte. Gloria Bartoli (Turin, 1985), head of Communication and External Relations, has a degree in Theoretical Philosophy and a Master’s degree in Management of Art and Cultural Organizations. She has transversal professional experience, from art fairs (deputy director of Arte Fiera Bologna from 2018 to 2021 and institutional relations and VIP manager of Artissima from 2014 to 2016), to the fashion industry (project manager of the Rick Owens retrospective at the Milan Triennale in 2017), to museum fundraising (Centro Pecci in Prato, 2021).

The four new staff additions, who join members already working at the Pinacoteca, are expected to contribute to the realization of an ambitious project that aims to increase Pinacoteca Agnelli’s active role in contemporary production. The institution will organize both exhibition activities within its traditional spaces and artistic initiatives extended to the outdoor spaces of the Pista 500, the large park suspended over the rooftops of the Lingotto. The program, which will be announced in January 2022, entails a profoundly renewed identity for the Pinacoteca, aimed at constantly putting the collection and contemporary art in dialogue with each other, open to surprising spaces and capable of winning over an increasingly wide and diverse audience.
