I am happy to celebrate Liberation Day in a place that symbolizes the darkest period experienced by the capital but also the rebirth of Italy as a whole.”

With Draghi was present the minister of culture, Dario Franceschini. “With President Draghi, who chose to commemorate April 25 at the Historical Museum of Liberation in Via Tasso,” he wrote on Twitter. “A very strong symbolic gesture and a speech full of values to remember April 25.” This is not the first time Franceschini has made an official visit to the Via Tasso Museum: he had chosen it as the site of his first public appointment both in 2014, as soon as he was appointed minister of cultural heritage in the Renzi government, and in September 2019 when he received the same post in the Conte II government.
