Special and unexpected visit to the Royal Museums of Turin: award-winning German director Wim Wenders, author of such masterpieces as The Sky Over Berlin and Paris, Texas, visited the exhibition The Genius and His Time. Face to face with Leonardo set up at the Royal Library in the Piedmontese capital, where he was able to admire life-size copies of Leonardo’s drawings made with sophisticated facsimile reproduction techniques. These included Leonardo’s famous Self-Portrait and other famous sheets such as the Maiden’s Face, the Manly Head in Profile Crowned with Laurel and the Codex on the Flight of Birds.

“Honored by this meeting,” read the Royal Museums’ social media, which also shared some shots of the day.
Wim Wenders then continued the tour of the museums until overlooking the Chapel of the Shroud.

The reason for his visit to Turin, where he had already come in 2007 on the occasion of a retrospective at the Turin Film Festival dedicated to him, is not yet known at the moment.
