Artissima unveils the lineup for its 33rd edition, announcing the galleries that will participate in the event scheduled to take placeat the Oval at Lingotto Fiere in Turin. The event—the only one in Italy entirely dedicatedto contemporary art—will return with a preview on October 29 and will be open to the public from October 30 to November 1, 2026, confirming Luigi Fassi as artistic director for his fifth year at the helm of the fair, and the support of Main Partner Intesa Sanpaolo. The 2026 edition will be titled “Fancy: A Flexible, Acrobatic Body,” a theme that aims to explore a vision of contemporary art capable of moving with agility, adapting to change, and connecting different languages, disciplines, and perspectives. This vision is also reflected in the selection of galleries and exhibition projects, which are oriented toward experimentation and research.
A total of 180 Italian and international galleries will be present at the fair, hailing from 35 countries across four continents. Of these, 60 will present monographic projects, thereby reaffirming one of Artissima’s defining characteristics: the fair continues to prioritize curated proposals and in-depth explorations dedicated to individual artists, alongside a constant focus on emerging trends.
The Oval spaces will host the event’s established sections. Alongside the Main Section, there will be New Entries, dedicated to younger galleries, Monologue/Dialogue, and Art Editions, as well as the curated sections Present Future, Back to the Future, and Disegni, which over the years have helped define the fair’s profile through, respectively, research initiatives focused on new generations, the rediscovery of historical figures, and contemporary drawing.
According to the organizers, the exhibition program for the 2026 edition will be characterized by the galleries’ ability to develop original and experimental projects, and will foster a dialogue between young artists and established figures on the international scene. The theme “Fancy: A Flexible, Acrobatic Body” will also be explored through a program of special initiatives. Kicking off this series will be a residency by poet Laura Accerboni, who has been invited to explore the relationship between word and image through a dialogue between poetry and the visual arts. The project kicks off a series of events designed to enrich the public’s experience and reinforce the event’s interdisciplinary focus, fostering new connections among artists, curators, writers, and cultural professionals.
There will be a variety of international participants. Among the galleries from Asia are A+ Works of Art from Kuala Lumpur, IAH and Vohm from Seoul, Maki Fine Arts and Side 2 from Tokyo, Rossi & Rossi from Hong Kong, ss space space from Taipei, and Vanguard from Shanghai. There will also be a significant presence of galleries from Latin America and Central America. The international lineup also includes a significant representation from South Africa, with Smac, Reservoir, and Whatiftheworld from Cape Town, while from the United States, 1301PE from Los Angeles, Andrew Reed from Miami, and the New York-based dieFirma and Management will be attending. Alongside these participants, there will be a particularly large contingent of galleries from Eastern Europe and countries such as France, Germany, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Switzerland, demonstrating the Turin event’s ability to attract participants from an increasingly broad geographic scope.
Among the distinctive features of the 2026 edition is also a significant generational shift. In fact , 33 galleries will be participating in Artissima for the first time, helping to further broaden the range of exhibition offerings and strengthen the fair’s role as a platform for discovering new players in the international art market.
Special attention is given to the New Entries section, reserved for galleries that have been open for less than five years and are participating in the event for the first time.
