Donatello's major exhibition in Florence exceeds 100,000 visitors. And now a book, "Donatello in Tuscany. Itineraries," to take the public on a tour of Donatello's works preserved in the region.

In fact, the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi is proposing the special Donatello in Tuscany initiative, a project aimed at enhancing the regional artistic heritage, promoted and organized by the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi with the contribution of Città Metropolitana di Firenze and Beyfin S.p.A with media partner La Nazione. As part of this initiative, the book Donatello in Tuscany. Itinerari, a publication published by Marsilio Arte and edited by Francesco Caglioti, which will be presented on Monday, June 27, at 6 p.m. in the Altana Room of Palazzo Strozzi in Florence (the event is sold out and it will be possible to follow it on Palazzo Strozzi’s social channels). The book offers a journey through Donatello’s works preserved in the region, through texts dedicated to twenty different places and a rich iconographic apparatus. The publication is part of the Donatello in Tuscany project, which has seen the creation of a physical and digital map to explore all of Tuscany in the footsteps of the “master of masters.”



The book traces Donatello’s works found in twenty locations in Tuscany, some of which are on display at Palazzo Strozzi until July 31, 2022, specifically, in Florence: Museo Nazionale del Bargello, Orsanmichele, Basilica di San Lorenzo, Basilica di Santa Croce, Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore (with Baptistery, Cathedral, Museo dell’Opera del Duomo), Museo di Palazzo Vecchio, Museo Stefano Bardini, Chiesa di Santa Trìnita; in Arezzo: Cathedral; in Pisa: National Museum of San Matteo; in Pontorme: Church of San Martino; in Prato: Museum of the Opera del Duomo and Cathedral, Museum of Palazzo Pretorio; in Siena: Opera della Metropolitana di Siena (Baptistery, Cathedral, Museum of the Opera del Duomo); in Torrita di Siena: Church of Saints Flora and Lucilla.
