Museum promotion and accessibility: a dedicated European master's degree in 2021

The European Level I Master’s Degree in Museum Promotion and Accessibility: educational and didactic services for cultural institutions aims to provide theoretical, practical and technological tools for the design and implementation of educational and didactic services and programs within theItalian museum and cultural offer.

Conceived by the Higher School for Linguistic Mediators LIMEC - Institute a Ordinamento Universitario in collaboration with thePedagogium University of Warsaw and in partnership with leading companies in the cultural sector such as CoopCulture, Larin Group and Meeple, the European Master’s Degree will place special emphasis on obtaining and strengthening knowledge and skills on the topics of public engagement, accessibility and museum education through a multidisciplinary and applied approach.

The European Master’s program is aimed at graduates in humanities, linguistics, and psycho-pedagogical subjects who want to delve into museological and educational issues in order to distinguish themselves as professionals within the Italian cultural scene.

Active from the 2020/2021 academic year, the Master’s program will start in February and end in December 2021 (enrollment will end on January 15, 2021). The Master’s program, in a part-time and blended formula, will see in-person classes concentrated on weekends (Fridays and Saturdays), with two meetings each month, to which will be added a summer school, for the analysis of important cultural institutions and to interface directly with the main players in the museum field, and an optional internship at cultural institutions or in leading companies in the sector.

The selection procedure for participants (maximum 30 people) will involve the evaluation of qualifications and a possible aptitude interview (remote). Those who enroll by next January 15, 2021 will also be able to participate in the selection for the award of the “Giovanna Maniezzo” Scholarship, offered by LIMEC to those who demonstrate outstanding scientific, professional and social skills.
