Sunday, April 16, special opening for Pontremoli's marvelous Baroque palaces: a full day of guided tours of Pontremoli's sumptuous Baroque sites, mostly private and usually unvisited. All info (and photos of the sites).

The marvelous historic pal aces of Pontremoli, a small Baroque capital in northern Tuscany, will exceptionally open their doors to the public on Sunday, April 16, 2023: with the Pontremoli Barocca event, in fact, the town will celebrate its artistic beauty with an entire day of extraordinary openings of churches and palaces that are symbols of Pontremoli Baroque and a treasure chest of important 18th-century masterpieces. Behind the many doorways facing the main street of the historic village are hidden entirely frescoed ceilings, quadratures, rich decorative elements, paintings, sculptures and works with a distinct theatricality created between the late 17th and mid-18th centuries by great artists from the Po Valley and Tuscany, following Pontremoli’s entry into the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a single admission ticket, it will be possible to discover as many as five places in the historic center through continuous and guaranteed guided tours throughout the day thanks to the guides of Sigeric - Servizi per il Turismo and the fundamental support of the students of Pontremoli High Schools.

The event is organized by Sigeric Cooperative - Services for Tourism in synergy with the Municipality of Pontremoli and the “Farfalle in Cammino” Association. On Sunday, April 16, the following places will be open for visits: Dosi Magnavacca Palace, Palazzo Pavesi Ruschi Noceti, Gardens of Palazzo Negri Dosi, Oratory of Our Lady and Rose Theater.

The cost of the cumulative ticket is €15.00 for adults and €8.00 for children ages 6 to 14. The ticket includes admission and guided tour to the above five places. It will be possible to purchase the ticket on the day itself, at the Sigeric Point in Pontremoli, Via Ricci Armani 10, or pre-purchase it by writing to info@sigeric.ito contact the following numbers +39 331 8866241 and +39 366 3712808.

At the same time, Villa Dosi Delfini, a masterpiece of Pontremoli Baroque located a few hundred meters from the historic center of Pontremoli, will also be open and can be visited by reservation. This place is not included in the “Pontremoli Barocca” cumulative ticket, but requires an extra ticket of €10.00.

Also on the same day on Sunday, April 16, it will also be possible to freely visit three other symbolic places of Pontremoli Baroque, namely the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, the church of San Geminiano and the church of San Francesco: three places deeply linked to the Golden Age of Pontremoli art.
