Radio Canonica: a project to raise awareness of Peter Canonica

Radio Canonica is the new project promoted by the Pietro Canonica Museum to introduce us to the artist Pietro Canonica (Moncalieri, 1869 - Rome, 1959) and the adventurous novel of his life, while waiting to be able to return to visit his house-museum in the heart of Villa Borghese in Rome.

From his training in late 19th-century Turin to his travels around the world to execute portraits of the powerful of the earth. From Buckingham Palace to the palace of the Tsars in St. Petersburg, from Parisian salons to castles in Germany, from Ataturk ’s Turkey toEgypt and all the way to mysterious and distant Iraq, the figure of Pietro Can onica is recounted through the reading of selected excerpts from Pietro Canonica’s Memoirs.

The project is curated and produced by Carla Scicchitano.
