Bologna, the journey into the lands of the Rasna continues with a major exhibition dedicated to the Etruscans

Extended at the Museo Civico Archeologico di Bologna, until November 29, 2020, the major exhibition Etruschi. Journey to the Lands of the Rasna.

Extended until November 29, 2020, the major exhibition Etruschi. Journey to the Lands of the Rasna set up at the Museo Civico Archeologico di Bologna, which will be open again from June 6. The extension was made possible thanks to the joint efforts of Istituzione Bologna Musei and Electa and the willingness of all the lending museums involved, including the British Museum in London, the Louvre in Paris, the Musée Royal d’Art d’Histoire in Brussels, the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen and the Vatican Museums.

The public will then be able to admire about 1,400 objects belonging to the Etruscan civilization.

“We are happy to offer tourists and the people of Bologna the unique experience of a journey through the time and space inhabited by the Etruscan people,” commented Roberto Grandi, president of Istituzione Bologna Musei. “Opening the exhibition for these six months was possible, in the first place, because the sixty museums and lending institutions felt that the great quality of the exhibition justified the concession for such a long time of works that are often among the most significant in their collections. We are confident that this joint effort of so many important Italian and international institutions will be repaid by a large public attendance that testifies to the curiosity and interest in a civilization that developed from southern Italy to our territory.”

“We have reopened the museums, at the end of the lockdown, to give back to the people of Bologna, and now to tourists, the opportunity to visit them, and to make them appreciate our artistic and scientific heritage,” added Matteo Lepore, councillor for Culture and City Promotion of the Municipality of Bologna. "The news of the opening of the exhibition Etruscans. Journey to the Lands of the Rasna is very important for us because it adds a quality itinerary to our cultural itineraries, giving the opportunity to experience the history of the Etruscans through works from all over the world. I thank the Istituzione Musei, the employees of the Archaeological Museum and Electa for this important agreement reached."

The exhibition project is promoted by Istituzione Bologna Musei | Museo Civico Archeologico, in collaboration with the Chair of Etruscology and Italic Archaeology of Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, and is produced by Electa.
