GNAM in Rome hosts a solo exhibition of illustrator Attilio Cassinelli, known for his work for young children (and others)

From February 4 to March 22, 2020, the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome is hosting the exhibition Evergreen. Attilio's Story.

At the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome opens, from February 4 to March 22, 2020, the exhibition Evergreen. Storia di Attilio (Attilio’s Story), dedicated to the language of illustrations by Attilio Cassinelli (Genoa, 1923), an artist who has the great merit of having enhanced visual communication aimed at younger children thanks to his singular capacity for synthesis.

The exhibition displays more than eighty works including drawings, original studies, books and models, most of them previously unpublished materials from the artist’s magical creative “cave,” with a short section devoted to advertising graphics of the 1960s (the “Cynar,” the “National” cigarettes) and caricaturism (memorable his Totò) and then focusing on the evolution that has occurred to date within the encyclopedic “bestiary,” inside and outside the two Giunti editions of Pinocchio.

For all information you can visit the official website of the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art.
