The Santa Giulia Museum in Brescia is hosting from Sept. 30, 2025 to Feb. 15, 2026 a major anthological exhibition in tribute to Guido Crepax (1933-2003), among Italy's greatest cartoonists and a multifaceted artist of international renown.

From September 30, 2025 to February 15, 2026, the Santa Giulia Museum in Brescia will host the anthological exhibition Guido Crepax. Dreams, Games, Valentina 1953-2003, a tribute to Guido Crepax (1933-2003), among Italy’s greatest cartoonists and a multifaceted artist of international renown.

Promoted by the Fondazione Brescia Musei in collaboration with theCrepax Archive and curated by Alberto Fiz and Ilaria Bignotti, with the collaboration of Camilla Remondina, the exhibition is an opportunity to rediscover Crepax’s creative universe through a philological journey spanning half a century of artistic production. The exhibition highlights Crepax’s profound impact on comics, of which he was an innovator and undisputed master, and his contribution to post-World War II Italian visual culture.

Through 150 works, including many previously unseen, the exhibition includes original plates, sketches, drawings, advertising projects, film storyboards, record covers and games. Divided into seven thematic sections, the exhibition will explore Guido Crepax’s stylistic evolution through a careful selection of 100 original plates, highlighting his graphic inventiveness, refined narrative construction and unmistakable aesthetic trait.

The exhibition aims to be the first major all-round survey of Crepax’s creativity, broadening the gaze beyond comics: the artist also excelled in advertising, television, theater, film, music and games. His theatrical contributions include costumes for Paolo Scheriani’s Salomé (2000) and Alban Berg’s Lulu, directed by Mario Martone (2001). He is also the author of more than 300 record covers, which testify to his visionary talent applied to the musical world.

Accompanying the exhibition is a rich catalog published by Skira, which delves into the figure of Crepax with critical essays.
