Inside Dalí: immersive show on surrealism icon opens in Florence

From Sept. 16, 2021 to Jan. 16, 2022, the church of Santo Stefano al Ponte, renamed the "Cathedral of the Image," will host "Inside Dalí," an immersive experience dedicated to the great icon of surrealism.

An immersive show about Salvador Dalí: this is the one that opened Sept. 16 in Florence in the church of Santo Stefano al Ponte, recently renamed the “Cathedral of the Image.” Entitled Inside Dalí and open until January 16, 2022, it is a multisensory experience within which visitors are led through the imagery of the great surrealist. The show, developed with the support of the Gala Salvador Dalí Foundation focuses on the life of the icon of surrealism, offering the public a mix of cutting-edge technology, images, illusions and allusions. All in symbiosis with the unique universe of the Catalan artist.

Inside the church, the public will find a 400-square-meter 360-degree multimedia space. The visitor is transported inside the world of the genius in a Dalinian immersion of more than 35 minutes-a moment that aims to excite viewers.

The immersive space is preceded, to enrich the nature of the event, by a large museum area, where the public can engage with Dalí’s multifaceted ingenuity, coming into contact with some of the surrealist master’s lesser-known productions: records he produced, his books, an advertising campaign for the French railways, are thus added to the cycle of 100 woodcuts masterfully pulled from watercolors drawn by the Catalan painter for the Divine Comedy.

Inside Dalí is accompanied by a catalog and merchandise curated by the Sillabe publishing house, while additional services (reception, bookshop and ticketing) are entrusted to Opera Laboratori, which also takes care of the installations. Tickets can be ordered through TicketOne.
