Isabella Nazzarri's fantasy world on display in Milan

From November 7 to 30, 2018, the exhibition 'Fractalia,' a solo show by Isabella Nazzarri, is on at Circoloquadro in Milan.

At Circoloquadro in Milan comes Fractalia, the solo exhibition of Isabella Nazzarri (Livorno, 1987) that will be held from November 7 to 30, 2018. Fractalia, a fictional name that evokes a distant planet, perfectly describes Isabella Nazzarri’s new cycle of works that shows a poetic coherence along with a strong ability to grow, mature and create ever new and fresh works. The concepts of transformation, metamorphosis and creation are taken up and deepened through two years of study and intense work.

The exhibition presents four new works, which are part of the series Grafts, which the artist has been working on since 2015: these are watercolors and acrylics on paper in which phytomorphic and gestural elements float on neutral backgrounds and in which forms are grafted with each other in the spontaneous and germinative process, typical of Isabella Nazzarri. The artist’s new series originates from these papers because new works literally germinate from them almost by cellular mitosis. To achieve this Isabella Nazzarri used a fractal generative program to process digital works based on the transformation of the works in the exhibition.

The program is based on random arrangements, so the element of spontaneity, which has always accompanied the artist’s work, again becomes a process that generates unique and unrepeatable variations. In the original works as well as in the digital prints there is thus both the element of spontaneity and revelation and the germinative process of the birth of forms and their transformation. The exhibition therefore features the original works and 40 prints in 10 variants - unique and signed - for each work.

Opening hours: Wednesday through Friday from 3 to 7 p.m., or by appointment.
