Masterpieces from the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome have flown to Beijing, on the occasion of the exhibition The Infinite Universe of Wuji: Masterpieces from the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome, which can be visited at the World Art Museum in Beijing from July 23 to October 30, 2022.

Italian Ambassador to China Luca Ferrari opened the new exhibition dedicated to Italian and European art, following the successful opening of Tota Italia. At the Origins of a Nation last July 10 at the National Museum. Organized as part of theItaly-China Year of Culture and Tourism 2022, the exhibition was conceived by GNAM in Rome and produced by China Museum International in order to show the Chinese public one of the largest and most important collections of modern and contemporary art. Ambassador Ferrari pointed out that the Italy-China Year of Culture and Tourism has come into full swing with the opening in Beijing and China of several major Italian exhibitions, including Giorgio Morandi in Shanghai, Maurizio Cattelan ’s Wish You Were Here in Shenzhen, and The Road to Baroque - Masterpieces from the Capodimonte Museum in Hong Kong. “The presence of these exhibitions in China today confirms Italy’s role as a cultural superpower and is proof of the variety of our artistic heritage and the importance of our museum institutions. These are cultural diplomacy initiatives that reaffirm the strength of culture as an instrument of soft power and a factor of rapprochement between peoples,” he concluded.
