Auctions Jan. 11-17: contemporary art, books and carpets


Start of the year auctions: many houses have not yet resumed full activity, but there are still several bargains. Here are the most interesting proposals from January 11 to 17, 2023.

Many auction houses have not yet taken full swing, but we still managed to find some interesting offerings among those opening Jan. 11-17.

At Babuino there are Auction T44 Timed Books and Engravings running through Jan. 17 and Auction 247 January 2023 to the highest bidder scheduled for Jan. 17.

Four auctions at Meeting Art: on Jan. 11 and 12 there is Oriental Rugs and 19th and 20th century paintings with virtual auctioneer; on Jan. 13 it is the turn of Master Marco Lodola’s exhibition Auction with simultaneous closing; on Jan. 14 and 15 Modern and Contemporary Art opens; and on Jan. 17 there will be Modern and Contemporary Graphics with virtual auctioneer.

A reminder that Rewinded and more XI, the Bolli&Romiti auction, expires on Jan. 12.

Borromeo opens Jan. 12 for the auction Art Catalogs and Artworks, which also sells an artist’s book by Lucio Fontana.

Still open in Paris is Instincts Présents, Christie’ s auction ending Jan. 16.

The following auctions are still running at Sotheby ’s: Des Lucréce Monsters ending Jan. 12; Charlie Mackesy. Look How Far We’ve Come running until Jan. 13; STONE IV whose closing date is Jan. 17.
