The Oscar Museum in Los Angeles will open at the end of the year. And it bears the signature of Renzo Piano

It was supposed to open in December 2019 (as we reported to you here), but now the plans have changed. We are talking about theAcademy Museum of Motion Pictures, the “Museum of the Oscars” that will open in Los Angeles on December 14, 2020. The announcement was made by actor Tom Hank during the Oscar presentation last Sunday.

Costing $388 million (at the exchange rate, just over 350 million euros), the museum is designed by Renzo Piano and is located at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, the so-called “Museum Row” in the Miracle Mile neighborhood of Los Angeles. Joining it are other museums such as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Petersen Automotive Museum, the A+D Architecture & Design Museum, the Craft and Folk Art Museum, and the La Brea Tar Pits prehistoric and paleontological site.

Although it is a long way from opening, the site is available for any consultation.
