There is a museum that to thank doctors and nurses lets them in for free. It happens in Tuscany

Pisa, Palazzo Blu arranges free admission for doctors and nurses: a thank you for their efforts against Covid-19.

A recognition for the doctors and nurses who have been engaged in the fight against Covid-19 in recent months: it is in this spirit that Palazzo Blu in Pisa has decided to establish free admission for the health care personnel who have been tenaciously and courageously carrying out their work in hospitals and places of care in the fight against the coronavirus in recent weeks. Palazzo Blu thus continues its efforts to go out to meet the public: already after the reopening last June 13, the administration had decided to offer free admission to the entire public, for the entire month of June.

So starting in July, doctors and nurses will be able to continue to visit the museum’s halls free of charge, and free admission for residents of Pisa and its province on Saturdays and Sundays as well. This is thanks to the efforts made by the Pisa Foundation. For everyone else, however, the €3 ticket will come into effect (reduced to €2 for school groups, groups and students of the University of Pisa, Sant’Anna and Scuola Normale Superiore).

In the first weeks after reopening to the public, the museum says, many people entered Palazzo Blu and were able to visit the historic home and the permanent collection, in compliance with the new regulations established for health safety. The Pisa Foundation believes this is an encouraging sign, which calls for continued work toward a full resumption of exhibition activities in the fall. In the meantime, visitors can go to the photographic exhibition Pisa Anni ’60, il boom e il rock, with objects and memorabilia from the Luciano Frassi archive, curated by Giuseppe Meucci and Stefano Renzoni. Also on display in the permanent collection is the recently acquired portrait of Artemisia Gentileschi by Simon Vouet, which is among the works that will be at the National Gallery in London in the Artemisia exhibition scheduled for the coming months.

Palazzo Blu is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. For info you can visit palazzoblu.it.
