What will the museum of the future look like? Six authoritative voices from the museum world discuss it in a series of webinars to be held between October and December.

Six voices from the museum world to try to understand what the museum of the future will look like. This is the thrust of the new webinar series anticipating the biennial conference MUŻE.X. Shaping museum futures, and to be held from October to December 2020 via the web.This is a project developed by Professor Carmel Borg and museologist Sandro Debono of the Department of Arts, Open Communities and Adult Education at the University of Malta, who will also serve as moderators of the webinars.

During the meetings, each of the six invited museum personalities will present their views on the challenges facing museums in the future. They begin on Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m. with Nina Simon, CEO of the nonprofit organization OF/BY/FOR ALL, which focuses on creating digital tools to help cultural organizations be more inclusive and sustainable. On Oct. 29, at 6:30 p.m., it will be the turn of Diane Drubay, museum strategy specialist and founder of We Are Museums, an international platform for innovators in the museum field. On Nov. 12, also at 6:30 p.m., meet Alistair Hudson, director of the Manchester Art Gallery and co-director of the Asociación de Arte Útil, an international association that promotes ways to bring art into everyday life. On Nov. 28, at 9:30 a.m., meet Kristin Alford, director of the MOD Museum in Adelaide, Australia, and on Dec. 5 at 9:30 a.m., Seb Chan of the Australian Centre for the Moving Image in Melbourne will hold the meeting. Finally, last meeting on December 11 at 6:30 p.m. with Kayleigh Bryant-Greenwell, head of public programs at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, DC.
