Fourteen thousand visitors were recorded in the four days since the reopening of the Shroud Chapel in Turin.

On Thursday, September 27, 2018, the Chapel of the Shroud of Turin, a masterpiece designed by Guarino Guarini, was reopened after 21 years of restoration in the presence of Minister for Cultural Heritage and Activities Alberto Bonisoli, President of the Piedmont Region Sergio Chiamparino, Mayor of the City of Turin Chiara Appendino, Archbishop Cesare Nosiglia, and Director of the Royal Museums Enrica Pagella.

Since the reopening, 14,000 visitors have been recorded; to make access more streamlined and limit queues and inconvenience, the Royal Museums have enhanced the reception service and the public, on this occasion, was able to visit the entire museum complex at a cost of three euros.
The highest number of visitors (5932) was recorded on Sunday, September 30, while on Saturday, September 29, 4307 tickets were sold and on Friday, September 28, 3707.

Director of the Royal Museums Enrica Pagella was satisfied: “We are happy with this response from the public, which shows how much expectation and affection surround this extraordinary masterpiece.”

From Tuesday, October 2, 2018, the Chapel of the Shroud will become part of the regular visiting itinerary of the Royal Museums of Turin.
