Edoardo Tresoldi's faces under the Barcelona sky

Artist Edoardo Tresoldi created the site-specific work Limes for the 25th anniversary of Barcelona's Illa Diagonal.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary ofIlla Diagonal, the city’s famous shopping mall in a building designed by Pritzker Prize winner Rafael Moneo and Manuel de Solà-Morales, artist Edoardo Tresoldi (1987), famous for his environmental installations made of wire mesh, which he calls"Absent Matter," has created a site-specific work entitled Limes.

The installation located 56 meters high consists of six large transparent volumes from which faces in wire mesh appear, each arranged differently from the others.
The figures appear in dialogue with their surroundings and are intended to initiate a reflection on borders and barriers, human interactions and different perspectives.

The Barcelona installation will be on view until Jan. 26, 2019. The work will later be dismantled and partially rearranged inside the mall.
