Florence, off to Diversely Artists, a project for the

'Diversamente artisti' project presented in Florence: ten differently abled children reproduce works by Monet.

The “Diversamente artisti” project kicked off in Florence, involving 10 young people with various disabilities and educator Matteo Bellesi. The initiative, the result of a collaboration between Crossmedia Group and the Gobetti-Volta institute in Bagno A Ripoli, has seen 11 canvases by Monet reproduced (the protagonist of the multimedia exhibition “Monet experience and the Impressionist” running until May 1, 2018, in the monumental complex of Santo Stefano al Ponte). The works created by the children will be exhibited in the same spaces from March 15 to 30, 2018.
A conference was held this morning in which all the details of the collaboration agreement and related initiatives were explained and attended by Federico Dalgas, president of Crossmedia Group, Simone Cavari, principal of the Gobetti-Volta Institute of Bagno a Ripoli, Annalisa Massari, Cultural Councillor of the Municipality of Bagno a Ripoli, Matteo Bellesi, Educator and curator of the “Diversamente artisti” project, and artist Mattia Sonnini.

In addition, from next March 15 (that is, from when the works will be visible inside the Santo Stefano al Ponte complex), an agreement will also be active thanks to which all students of the Gobetti-Volta institute of Bagno a Ripoli will be able to visit the multimedia exhibition “Monet Experience and the Impressionist” at the ticket price of 7 euros; the opportunity will be active for the duration of the exhibition.

During the conference, an event closely related to the collaboration between Crossmedia Group and the Gobetti-Volta Institute was also announced: again in the spaces of Santo Stefano al Ponte, a stone’s throw from the Ponte Vecchio, on Thursday, March 15, at 6 p.m. "Diversamente artisti...live. Inside the art of Monet, artist Francesco Canale and the students of the “Diversamente artisti” workshop, led by Matteo Bellesi, for the first time together will be engaged in a unique artistic performance organized especially for the occasion.

Of particular note is the presence of Francesco Canale, aka “Blue Soul,” an artist born without arms or legs who through painting has managed to break down many barriers. His works are always a great success to the point of having painted for the Pope and exhibited in the Museo de la Ciudad in Madrid. With Canale and the other Gobetti-Volta students, the performance will turn out to be a sort of “pictorial relay race” in which each with his own skills, his own style will contribute to show how in art and in life everything is really possible and achievable. A subtle emotional thread that, starting from the romantic paintings of the French painter, will reach the present, leaving everyone with a message of hope and beauty.

All this will take place in the Santo Stefano al Ponte complex, in an animated play of light and color thanks to the technological equipment already in use for “Monet Experience and the Impressionist.” In addition, the emotional backstage video of the children engaged in the creation of Monet’s 11 canvases will be shown during the performance.
