For the occasion, the MArRC is offeringfree admission and guided tours themed"Lights of Magna Graecia."



In the morning, at 10 a.m., 10:40 a.m. and 11:20 a.m., students from the Liceo Scientifico Sportivo “Alessandro Volta” will accompany guests to discover the magical world of the Olympic Games, through the exhibition "The Flame that Unites. TheOlympic Torches, from Berlin 1936 to Rio de Janeiro 2016" curated by the Italian National Olympic Committee, in the space of Paolo Orsi Square.

In the afternoon, at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., specialized guides, made available by the Kore society, will take visitors on a journey to learn about the customs, beliefs and emotions in the experience of the Western Greeks: evidence of the myth of Persephone will be discussed, and the Bronze Statues of Riace and the Porticello bronzes will be admired.

In addition, in Paolo Orsi Square, the exhibition"Fiat Lux. Lighting between antiquity and the Middle Ages," curated by director Carmelo Malacrino: more than seventy exhibits, mostly oil lamps, that will turn on the light of knowledge on houses, roads, sanctuaries of the peoples who have preceded us.
