Italian street art online thanks to collaboration between INWARD and Google Cultural Institute

INWARD National Observatory on Urban Creativity in collaboration with Google Cultural Institute has made Italian street art available online.

INWARD National Observatory on Urban Creativity in collaboration with Google Cultural Institute has made available on artsandculture.google.com more than 350 works by more than fifty Italian street artists, Street View images of the Mural Park, and experimental thematic exhibitions.

The first phase of the collaboration led to the digitization of the first 350 works, but dozens of new artists and hundreds of new works will be added in the coming months. Among the most representative of the different styles of Italian street art already online are Gio Pistone, Universo (2017), Neve, Leucosia (2017) Alberonero, Mañana 100 tones (2016) and Corn79, Blu Cerebrale (2016).

In addition to these names, leading Italian street artists have already joined the digital platform, such as Rosk&Loste, Peeta, Orticanoodles, Mattia Campo Dall’Orto, Matteo Brogi, Kerotoo, La Fille Bertha, Ironmould, Gue, Gola, G.loois, Giulio Vesprini, Luigi Loquarto (Gig), Geometric Bang, Rmogrl 8120 (Gabriele Romei), Flycat, Mr. Fijodor, Fabio Petani, Daniele Nitti, Camilla Falsini, Alessandra Carloni, Coquicolt Mafille, Davide Brioschi, Manu Invisible, Ale Senso, Dado, Ozmo, Alessio Bolognesi, Gomez, Andrea Tarli, Alessandro Suzzi, Joys, Koso, Mate, Vera Bugatti, Edf Crew, Fabio Della Ratta, Luispak, Noeyes, Teresa Sarno, Naf-Mk, Massimo Sirelli, Nabla&Zibe, Raro, Kiki Skipi, Zeus40, Xel, Iabo, and Crisa.

Using Google Street View technology, it is also possible to take a 360-degree virtual tour of the Murales Park, an urban social creativity program designed and produced by INWARD in the eastern suburbs of Naples. In the coming months, the possibility of taking the experimentation to other territorial street art systems in Italy will be evaluated.

In the collection of Italian street art curated by INWARD, the first thematic exhibitions can then be enjoyed, which experimentally organize street art productions by genre, between abstraction and illustration, geometrism and realism, figurative and lettering.
