Lazio Region allocates 7 million euros to theaters, cinemas and cultural associations

Lazio Region allocates an extraordinary grant of 7 million euros to support theaters, cinemas and cultural associations.

The Lazio Region is allocating a total extraordinary contribution of 7 million euros to support theaters, cinemas and cultural associations, divided into 1.3 million for theaters, 1.7 million for cinemas and 4 million for cultural associations.

Beneficiaries of the contribution intended for theaters will be managers of Lazio theater spaces that, among the requirements, have been established for at least two years and have hosted a minimum number of programming days in 2019 (60 for theaters in the territory of Roma Capitale and 40 in the remaining municipalities of Lazio), from theater to music to dance.
The amount of the contribution will be determined according to the number of theater seats: 12,000 euros for theaters with 101 to 200 seats; 17,000 euros for theaters with 201 to 300 seats; 26,000 from 301 to 500 seats; 40,000 from 501 to 1,000 seats; and 53,000 euros for theaters with more than 1,000 seats.

The grant intended for cinemas is intended for cinema exhibitors. Among the requirements are the presence on the regional territory of both the registered or operational office and the movie theater, being regularly registered in the business register as well as having accrued in 2019 a certain number of days of public entertainment: 240 for cinemas located on the territory of Roma Capitale, 180 in the other provincial capitals and 100 in the other municipalities of Lazio.Without prejudice to the maximum contribution of 60,000 euros in total for each theater, a portion of it will be determined by the number of days the cinema is open from August 24 to October 25, 2020: 4,000 euros from 0 to 10 days of opening; 6,500 euros from 11 to 25 days; 7,500 euros from 26 to 40 days; and 10,500 euros from 41 days of opening onward. In addition, for theaters that have registered at least 11 opening days, an additional 5 percent will be disbursed calculated on the loss of gross receipts referring to the period from October 1 to December 31, 2020 in relation to the same period in 2019.

For the notices dedicated to Theater and Cinema, applications must be submitted, under penalty of exclusion, no later than December 21, 2020 via Certified Electronic Mail (C.E.P.) to sostegnocultura.laziocrea@legalmail.it.

For Cultural and Social Promotion Associations (APS), including those belonging to the Third Sector, which are active in artistic and cultural promotion, production and training, the Lazio Region has allocated 4 million euros. There are two categories of beneficiaries: organizers of cultural and artistic activities who do not incur the expense of a space, who will be eligible for a one-time non-repayable grant of 5,500 euros; and all those who, in addition to being organizers, also incur the cost (lease, concession of use, loan) of a multipurpose space on the regional territory deputed to the execution of these activities and who will be eligible for a one-time non-repayable grant of 9,000 euros. Among the conditions required, prove that they have carried out from January 1 to December 31, 2019 at least 50 days of artistic and cultural promotion, production or training activities.

Also for the public notice dedicated to Associations, applications for grants must be submitted, under penalty of exclusion, no later than Dec. 21, 2020 via Certified Electronic Mail (C.E.P.) to sostegnoassociazioniculturali.laziocrea@legalmail.it.
