Mario Dondero Award 2018, registration open for photo contest

Registration is now open for the 2018 Mario Dondero Prize, the photography award dedicated to Mario Dondero (Milan, 1928 - Petritoli, 2015) the Milanese photographer known for being one of the most important photojournalists of the 20th century. To participate it is necessary to pay a registration fee of €20 to be paid by bank transfer payable to: ASSOCIAZIONE MUSEO DELLA FOTOGRAFIA ITALIANA IT 13D03111202000000033974 UBI BANCO DI BRESCIA.

Each participant must send a minimum of 8 to a maximum of 12 images selected from a single reportage based on criteria at the candidate’s discretion. Multiple submissions from the same author are not allowed. The reportage must be unpublished and must have been made within the last three years. Submitted images, which can be in color or black and white, must be between 20×30 and 24×36 in size (margins are allowed if necessary to keep the proportions of the original shot intact). Choices of printing method are free.

Digital or analog manipulation is permitted to optimize and size the image. The same is not permitted to remove or add elements not present in the original shot. It remains at the discretion of the jury members to exclude photographs as a result of excessive manipulation.

Entries end Oct. 20, finalists will be contacted Nov. 7, and the awards ceremony is scheduled for Nov. 10.
