On March 19, 2020, the largest private collection of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda (Parral, 1904 - Santiago de Chile, 1973) will be auctioned in a single lot. The latter belongs to Spanish entrepreneur Santiago Vivanco and includes 603 pieces, including documents, manuscripts, books with dedications (always written in green) and photographs.
The collection will go to auction in Barcelona starting with a price tag of 650,000 euros.

Among the most significant pieces are a unique copy of Veinte poemas de amor y una canción desesperada that Neruda dedicated to his friend Gabriel García Marquez, a copy of Crepusculario, the poet’s first book published in 1923. Dedications include names such as Salvador Allende, Violeta Parra, Pablo Picasso, Miguel Hernández, as well as tracts by Joan Miró or Diego Rivera.

Also included are the first edition of Canto general and Canción de la fiesta (thanks to which he won the Juegos Florales poetry contest in 1921), the edition of Los versos del capitán (44 copies of the latter were published with anonymous author), and the document written in 1963 in Isla Negra, in which Neruda confirms his authorship.
