Siena's Santa Maria della Scala included among museums of regional significance

Siena, Santa Maria della Scala included among the museums of regional significance by the Tuscany Region.

With Decree No. 14140 of September 12, 2018, the Region of Tuscany included Santa Maria della Scala among the museums of regional significance. The application procedure, submitted by the museum last March, has therefore been positively concluded. Giving the news is the Municipality of Siena, which writes in a note: "The safety works carried out inside the building, the start of the SCIA and the recent issuance by the provincial Fire Department of the Fire Prevention Certificate have contributed decisively to this result. At the same time, the museum has equipped itself with a quality service charter, in compliance with the parameters required by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, and has gradually improved procedures for surveying visitor customer satisfaction."

The latter, thanks to a project carried out by a student working within the museum in alternating school work, is now monitored through the presence of special touch screens with the online questionnaire placed at the entrance/exit of the museum, whose data are immediately transmitted to the staff and processed in graphs. Finally, the museum has increased its visitor routes and its cultural and research activities, with exhibition events, study days and meetings, and has given continuity to the work of scientific reorganization of collections and exhibition spaces.
“Accreditation among the museums of regional significance is a fundamental incentive for maintaining high quality standards and, at the same time, an indispensable tool for accessing the region’s ordinary funds earmarked for museums,” the municipality concludes.
