Street artists pay homage to Kobe Bryant with their works. Here are the most beautiful murals

Tributes from street artists around the world to remember Kobe Bryant. Here are the most beautiful works.

The tragic death of Kobe Bryant, the former basketball star, star player of the Los Angeles Lakers for nearly two decades, and one of the public’s most beloved sportsmen, has also had effects onart. Bryant, who died in an accident with his helicopter along with his daughter Gianna and seven other people last Jan. 26 in Calabasas, California, has been paid tribute by street artists around the globe, who have dedicated several murals to him, depicting him alone or with his daughter, smiling and relaxed or engaged in spectacular actions on the court.

In downtown Los Angeles, artist Jonas Never, who specializes in sports-themed murals, has dedicated a work to him in which Kobe Bryant, wearing his number 24 jersey, exults after a basket. Also in Los Angeles, Art Gozukuchikyan, known as “Artoon” in street art circles, portrayed him performing one of his typical gestures (the jersey bite) together with his daughter Gianna, and also in the City of Angels, an artist Jules Muck reinterpreted the relationship between Kobe and Gianna in the light of his feminine sensibility. In the “Graffiti Alley” in the university town of Cambridge, Massachusetts (home of Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology), artist Brandalizm instead transformed father and daughter into two angels. Also significant is the mural created at the entrance of a gymnasium in Valenzuela, a suburb of Manila, Philippines, inaugurated the day before the player’s passing and named “House of Kobe” in his honor (in the Philippines, basketball is a very popular sport and Bryant is one of the sport’s most beloved figures).

Italy has also paid homage to Kobe Bryant with the works of two of the most famous street artists from our home: Jorit Agoch, who depicted Kobe Bryant from behind on the wall of a suburban playground in Naples, and TvBoy, who preferred instead to focus on the kiss between Kobe and his daughter Gianna. Below is a gallery of the best murals dedicated to Kobe Bryant.
