VRUMS, Italy's first center entirely dedicated to virtual reality, is born in Bologna

On Friday, November 29, 2019, VRUMS, Italy's first center for the promotion, study and popularization of virtual reality, will be inaugurated in Bologna.

The first center in Italy for the promotion, enjoyment, study and dissemination of virtual reality is born in Bologna: VRUMS (Virtual Reality Rooms Italia) will be inaugurated on Friday, Nov. 29, at Via Zaccherini Alvisi, 8.

VRUMS intends to be a national reference point for the development of new synergies and research with theapplication of virtual reality to various fields: from gaming to healthcare, from culture to cinema. It aims to lead experimentation and actions related to virtual reality to further growth.

Born from the interdisciplinary experience of professionals in new technologies and communication, researchers in the socio-health field and Vitruvio Virtual Museum, VRUMS aims to shorten the distances between the different fields that can potentially interact with virtual reality.

The innovative proposal will have three cornerstones: entertainment, training and research center, and team building. It will be a virtual reality game room with more than one hundred constantly updated titles, film stations and virtual reality art experiences. It will be a permanent experimental research center on virtual reality applications in the medical-psychological field, collaborating with the world’s leading research centers in the specific fields, and a training center open to students and teachers with organized and designed activities. It will also offer companies a package of team-building activities.
