Exporting cultural goods: reform passed in the Senate. What happens next?

Competition bill containing cultural heritage reform approved in the Senate. Here's how the legislative process will continue.

Bill No. 2085 for the “annual market and competition law” (known as the “competition bill”), which also contains reform of the export of cultural goods, was approved in the Senate, after two years of debate, last Wednesday, May 3, with 158 votes in favor, 110 against and one abstention. Minimal changes were made to the text that reached the Senate. What will happen now?

The final text was assigned yesterday, May 8, to the joint committees 6^ (Finance) and 10^ (Productive Activities, Trade and Tourism) and is therefore back to the House for the second reading from which the final go-ahead must come. Changes are therefore still possible. For more on the reform see also our interviews with Leonardo Piccinini (in favor) and Anna Stanzani (against).
