On the occasion of the 600th anniversary date of the birth of Federico da Montefeltro (Gubbio, 1422 - Ferrara, 1482), Finestre Sull’Arte launches five video lectures dedicated to the lord of Urbino. Through five insights, we discover the various sides of the figure of Federico da Montefeltro: the warrior, the lord of Urbino, the great patron of the arts.
Five video lectures on the great lord of Urbino and the arts in his lordship: from an in-depth look at the figure of a lord who was first a warrior and then a patron to the artists who gravitated around his court, either because they were directly hired or because they were affected by the cultural temperament of Urbino, from the sumptuous Ducal Palace to the special relationship with Piero della Francesca. Five sessions of about an hour each, given by art historians, to watch directly online.
It begins with Federico Da Montefeltro Politico, Guerriero E Mecenate (curated by Alessandra Bertuzzi), a well-rounded look at the figure of the lord of Urbino. It then moves on to Artists In Urbino I. Melozzo, Pedro Berruguete, Giusto Da Gand (edited by Tamara Dominici) and to Artists In Urbino II. Francesco Di Giorgio Martini, Luciano Laurana (curated by Anna De Fazio Siciliano), to discover the major artists who worked directly for Federico da Montefeltro or were deeply affected by the cultural environment of Urbino. Then here is Il Palazzo Ducale Di Urbino (curated by Alessandra Bertuzzi), to get up close and personal with Federico da Montefeltro’s seat of power, the sumptuous palace now housing the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche. Finally, with Piero Della Francesca E La Corte Di Urbino (curated by Caterina Zaira Laskaris) we will profile the greatest artist active at the court of Feltre.
At shop.finestresullarte.info you can find pages dedicated to the individual lectures, synopses, biographies of the speakers, and trailers, and it is possible to purchase them: individual lectures (lasting at least an hour each) are available at a cost of only 9 euros, while the complete package of 5 lectures is on sale at a discounted price of only 36 euros.
