Coming to theaters is Monet’s Water Lilies. A Spell of Water and Light, the event film dedicated to Claude Monet, father ofImpressionism, and his passion for the water lilies that so inspired him for his famous series of paintings. Produced by Nexo Digital and Ballandi Arts, the film takes us to Paris, among the salons of the Musée Marmottan, Musée de l’Orangerie and Musée D’Orsay, but also to Giverny with the Fondation Monet, the artist’s home, garden and among the magnificent views of Étretat.

The guide will be actress Elisa Lasowski(The Iron Throne, Versailles), while scientific advice is provided by historian and writer Ross King (author of the best-selling The Mystery of the Water Lilies. Monet and the Revolution of Modern Painting, published in Italy by Rizzoli), with talks by Flemish photographer Sanne De Wilde and Fondation Monet gardener Claire Hélène Marron. Remo Anzovino signs the soundtrack.

The film shows us how Monet emerged from his depression, which almost forced him to give up painting, to devote himself to his most colossal undertaking, the Grand Décoration, which consists of huge panels depicting his water lily pond. The work was later to be exhibited during the opening of the Musée de L’Orangerie in May 1927 by his friend George Clemenceau, but Monet died five months before the fateful day and was never able to see his last work exhibited. Monet’s Water Lilies. A Spell of Water and Light will be released in Italian theaters on Nov. 26, 27 and 28.
