Pontremoli Baroque 2026: two days among villas, palaces and hidden treasures

On Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12, Pontremoli opens ten Baroque venues with extraordinary tours, concerts, events and side initiatives among noble palaces, churches, villas and gardens in the city and Lunigiana.

The countdown begins for Pontremoli Barocca 2026, the event that returns to introduce the public to the great concentration of Baroque art in the city and Lunigiana. Online presales are already available, while the two days of extraordinary openings will be held on Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12, involving ten places of historical and artistic significance. The initiative, promoted by organizers Sigeric and Farfalle in Cammino, offers different ways to explore palaces, religious buildings, villas and gardens, preserved thanks to the efforts of local families, institutions and operators.

Pontremoli Barocca 2026 offers an opportunity to delve into the period between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, considered the golden century of Pontremoli art, when the encounter between the Baroque of Central Italy and the Quadraturismo Padano transformed the town into a small capital of Baroque art. The event allows for a close look at architecture, sculptures, paintings and frescoes, a unique and still well-preserved heritage.

“The format of Pontremoli Barocca has now been consolidated: the numbers and the interest of numerous national newspapers tell that the event has reached a dimension that goes beyond, today, the boundaries of the territory: that makes Pontremoli recognizable as one of the most important artistic realities in the panorama of Italian Baroque,” the organizers say. “The project involves many people and at different levels, enhancing the artistic heritage but also the educational paths dedicated to students and young professionals in the cultural sector.”
