Produced by Arthemisia and realized in collaboration with the Kröller Müller Museum in Otterlo, which holds masterpieces by the Dutch artist, the exhibition will tell the story of Van Gogh through his most famous works, including a very famous Self-Portrait of him.

Through sixty works and many biographical accounts, the Roman exhibition will reconstruct the human and artistic story of the famous painter.

Born in the Netherlands on March 30, 1853, he was an artist of extreme sensitivity and tormented life. Some of the episodes of his existence have become famous, such as his bouts of insanity, his long hospitalizations in the psychiatric hospital of Saint Paul in Provence, the cutting off of his ear, as well as the epilogue of his life, which occurred when he was only thirty-seven years old, on July 29, 1890, following a gunshot wound to the chest in the fields of Auverse.

During his lifetime, however, Van Gogh painted numerous masterpieces and left us in his letters, particularly to his brother Theo, valuable accounts that contributed to our knowledge of the details and details of his troubled life. Van Gogh created a unique style that made him one of the most celebrated painters in art history. And the exhibition at the Bonaparte Palace aims to celebrate his universal greatness.
