Dantedì, Dante's virtual walk in the Colosseum Archaeological Park

On the occasion of Dantedì, the Colosseum Archaeological Park offers a Dantean walk through its heritage.

Also participating in Dantedì is the Colosseum Archaeological Park, offering a Dantean journey within the PArCo’s heritage.

On the official website www.parcocolosseo.it and on the social channels Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Youtube, the history of the PArCo will be retraced through Dante’s tercets that tell some of the events of Rome’s history.

Even today, the Roman Forum, the Palatine and the Imperial Forums preserve the historical evidence of the characters Dante gave voice to in his Comedy, and pagan deities were worshipped in these places. There will thus be an opportunity to rediscover, by reading Dante’s tercets, the vicissitudes of Aeneas and Palladius, the shepherd Cacus, the evolution of power through Caesar, the princeps Augustus and Justinian, the humility of Trajan, all the way to the figure of St. Peter and the many tutelary deities of the Roman Pantheon.

The audience will be accompanied on this Dantean journey by the narrative voices of actors participating in the initiative conceived and curated by archaeological officials Elisa Cella and Federica Rinaldi. Opening the marathon is the voice of Massimo Ghini, followed by Giuseppe Cederna, Rosa Diletta Rossi and Domenico Cupaiuolo.
