An art bottle of water to give aid to children in Ukraine. This is the initiative of Ferrarelle Società Benefit S.p.A., one of the top five companies in the mineral water sector in Italy, which each year launches a limited edition of the famous Ferrarelle bottle, the Art Collection. The Art Collection 2022 is dedicated to the theme of peace and will support the Ukrainian crisis response activities of Save the Children, an international organization that has been fighting for more than 100 years to save girls and children at risk and ensure their future.
The 2022 edition of the Art Collection was illustrated to Igort, an Italian cartoonist published in more than twenty countries, novelist, musician and filmmaker. Since 2008 he has been engaged in Graphic Journalism with the creation of the cycle of Ukrainian notebooks and Russian notebooks to chronicle life in those latitudes, where he has lived for over two years. The illustration created for the project, finely silkscreened on the glass bottle, depicts a Ukrainian woman in traditional dress with a wreath on her head. Accompanying it, the inscription “peace” written in Ukrainian and Italian bridges the two cultures and is the universal message that Ferrarelle Società Benefit S.p.A. wants to reiterate ten months after the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine.
As a result of the war, there are already 7,841,359 people who have fled Ukraine, many of them minors, who have had to leave their homes and, often, their loved ones to take refuge in a neighboring country after witnessing violence, bombings and suffering hardship and fear. Ferrarelle Società Benefit, after sending over 70,000 liters of water to Ukrainian Refugee Centers in Poland and Moldova over the course of the year, will now also support Save the Children’s response to the emergency. Precisely as a result of the dramatic situation that arose when war broke out in Ukraine, Save the Children’s response was immediate to provide support to children and their families. In fact, food, water, hygiene kits, medical care, temporary shelters and spaces for socialization and play for the youngest children were guaranteed.
“The opportunity to support Save the Children in its activities in response to the Ukrainian crisis, makes us very proud, we believe that after ten months of uninterrupted conflict, it is essential to ensure that children and girls fleeing the war have the support they need to face this dramatic moment,” comments Michele Pontecorvo, Vice President of Ferrarelle Società Benefit. “We believe it is important that civil society, of which we are part as a company, does not shy away from the horrors of war and its devastating consequences.”
Since 2010, Ferrarelle Società Benefit has been paying tribute to the effervescence of Italian art with the Art Collection Project, entrusting the Platinum Edition glass bottle to the flair and creativity of an Italian artist for the creation of limited editions in runs of 2,000.
