Florence, to dine at Palazzo Vecchio, Ferrari will pay 173 thousand euros

Ferrari will pay the City of Florence the sum of 173,000 euros to dine in the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio. A gala dinner for 198 guests.

More than 173,000 euros to dine in the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio: this is the amount that Ferrari will have to pay to the City of Florence in order to organize the gala dinner on September 12 (for which a maximum of 198 guests are expected), on the occasion of the celebrations for the Maranello team’s 1,000 Grand Prix in Formula One. No exemptions, then, as was the case for the Dolce & Gabbana fashion show last weekend, and which resulted in a 13-day closure of the museum, including eight days to the public. However, the museum, for the Ferrari dinner, will be closed to the public for two days, Sept. 11 and 12. For the dinner and for the production of Saturday night’s event (there will be a show in Piazza della Signoria), Ferrari requested four rooms (the Salone dei Cinquecento, the Sala Macconi, the former Sala Bar and the Sala d’Arme), which were granted by the City Council because there were “reasons of public interest that allow [...] the museum closure” and because the compatibility “with the characteristics of the environments” was verified.

The City of Florence has specified the costs to be incurred by Ferrari, including concession fees for the rooms, lump-sum reimbursements for consumption and fees for ancillary services. For the Salone dei Cinquecento, fee of 68,310 euros, reimbursement for consumption of 3,281.04 and consideration for ancillary services of 13,124.16 euros. For the Macconi Hall, fee of 1,954.80, reimbursement of 316.80 and consideration of 1,261.44. For the Former Bar Room, fee of 1,897.20, reimbursement of 316.80, consideration of 1,261.44. For the Hall of Arms, no fee but reimbursement of 9,478.56 and consideration of 37,914.24. A total of 139,116.48 euros, excluding vat, plus an additional 34,464 euros vat exempt as reimbursement for lost museum ticketing revenue due to the closure to the public. This makes a total of 173,580.48 euros, which with vat included becomes 204,186.11.

Ferrari will not pay fees for other rooms that it has not asked for but can use (the Void Room, the Theater Room, the ticket office, the Ronda walkway and other spaces necessary for the performance). The amounts for expense reimbursements and ancillary services, moreover, are increased by 20 percent over the fee that is applied in the ordinary way: this is because of the fact that the anti-Covid provisions provide for additional organizational measures over and above what is provided for in the ordinary security and emergency procedures.

Compliance with the anti-Covid security measures will be the responsibility of Ferrari, which will have to control theaccess to individual rooms in use, verifying that guests are and remain in numbers compatible with security plans and current regulations (specifically, there may be a maximum of 198 guests), prepare a list of attendance names with telephone contact information, urge participants to maintain an interpersonal distance of six feet where possible and to avoid gatherings, hugs and handshakes, take participants’ body temperatures (those who present a body temperature greater than 37.5° will not be allowed to enter, symptoms of respiratory infection, coughing and shortness of breath), check that participants will compulsorily wear a protective mask that will cover their nose and mouth and sanitize their hands with the use of liquid disinfectant. Ferrari will, of course, also be responsible for fulfilling the obligations regarding permits for the performance of the show.
