Padua, lovers' mural daubed with anti-Banksy writing

Padua, smeared the famous mural of lovers, by street artist Kenny Random, with anti-Banksy writing.

Padua’s most famous mural, the Lovers’ Couple on Daniele Manin Street by renowned street artist Kenny Random, was daubed this morning by an unknown person. An anti-Banksy inscription was added to the figure, a silhouette of a couple kissing: No privileges.

The unknown person who affixed the writing was referring to the legal case from which the famous British street artist emerged defeated and which saw him lose a major legal battle over his trademark, which will no longer be recognized as his own, since Banksy cannot exercise copyright as he does not intend to come out of anonymity, and according to the European Union Intellectual Property Office he registered the trademark not for commercial use, but only to circumvent the laws(a detailed explanation of the case here).

Currently, there are no claims regarding the gesture that affected Kenny Random’s work.
