Large influx of visitors to Pompeii Archaeological Park during the holiday season, thanks in part to the reopening of three domus.

In between panettone, tourists spent Christmas in Pompeii. Accomplice to the December 23 reopening to the public of three recently restored domus (theDomus e Botteghe building, the House of the Outdoor Triclinium and the House of the Flowering Lararium), there were 6,334 hits in Pompeii on the day of December 26, according to data provided by the Superintendency, while on December 24 there were 3,557 hits.

Vesuvius was also a popular destination: there were a total of 1,289 visitors to the Gran Cono trail, broken down into 342 accesses on Dec. 24, 342 on Christmas and 605 on Boxing Day. The Herculaneum Archaeological Park, on the other hand, recorded and 265 on Christmas Eve and 779 entries on Boxing Day. On December 25, the Archaeological Excavations remained closed as scheduled.
