This morning, August 9, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., the Head of the Sphinx of the Passoliera was unveiled at the Archaeological Museum of Ancient Kaulon.

It is a significant example of terracotta sculpture from the Archaic period found in Kaulonia in the early 20th century. Now the work will be exhibited for the first time at its place of origin.

Attending the presentation were Salvatore Patamia, MiBAC regional secretary for Calabria; Angela Acordon, director of the Polo Museale della Calabria; Rossella Agostino, director of the Museum and Archaeological Park of Ancient Kaulon; and Cesare Deleo, mayor of Monasterace.

The Archaeological Museum of Ancient Kaulon, directed by Rossella Agostino, is afferent to the Polo Museale della Calabria headed by Angela Acordon.
