The State Police and the Uffizi Galleries have launched a collaboration for the creation of the new Police Museum. This morning, the Chief of Police - Director General of Public Security, Prefect Vittorio Pisani, and the Director of the Uffizi Galleries, Simone Verde, signed a protocol aimed at defining the technical, scientific and cultural cooperation modalities necessary for the design and setting up of the museum center.
The initiative is part of a path to enhance the historical, artistic and identity heritage of the State Police, with educational purposes and promotion of the culture of legality. The Police Museum will be included in the National Museum System, thus strengthening the link between cultural institutions and citizens through the preservation of the institution’s historical memory.
The Uffizi Galleries, an autonomous institute of the Ministry of Culture, will provide a technical and scientific contribution, supporting the Department of Public Security in defining the exhibition content, advising on architectural and museographic choices, and curating the displays.
