New Uffizi display, question by Fassina (LeU) asking how much it cost and what Bonisoli's position is

MP Stefano Fassina of Liberi e Uguali is submitting a parliamentary question to hold the minister accountable about the new layout of Room 41 of the Uffizi.

MP Stefano Fassina of Liberi e Uguali tabled aparliamentary question addressed to the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Alberto Bonisoli, at the July 16, 2018, session of the Chamber of Deputies to ask for an account of the Uffizi’s new layout for Room 41, the one with Michelangelo’s Tondo Doni and masterpieces by Raphael and Fra’ Bartolomeo. “A project,” Fassina says in his question (the 4-00708), “whose implementation would have implied a series of domino-effect removals in some of the most iconic rooms of the museum, determining more than a simple rearrangement, a radical change of perspective.”

Fassina argues that “unlike what was decided in the past by the previous director Antonio Natali, who had chosen to place Michelangelo’s Tondo Doni alongside the monumental antique sculpture of the Sleeping Ariadne in a particularly evocative setting, now the related arrangement turns out to be questionable in the questioner’s opinion.” and for these reasons he asks “whether the questioned minister is aware of the facts described and what are his orientations on the matter, considering that the transformation took place to meet mass tourism” and “whether he intends to ensure, within his competence, initiatives aimed at quantifying the cost of this operation.”

Alberto Bonisoli’s response is therefore awaited.
