And in anticipation of being able to welcome the public in attendance, on Thursday, March 25, it will be possible to get a taste of the exhibition through images that will be broadcast on Palazzo Blu’s social accounts starting with Youtube.

The video preview will unveil the first images of the installation and lead the public to discover Tom Phillips, a contemporary British artist, and his account in 139 illustrations of Dante’s Inferno. The artist began his expressive research on Dante’s text in 1976. The works in the exhibition, created using techniques as diverse as silkscreen, etching, lithography, and mezzotint, belong to a complete series and represent a visual commentary on Dante’s tercets. A commentary with post-modern features with quotations from famous works, cult objects, icons of mass society, forays into the world of comic books.

Tom Phillips is today among the most important artists internationally, able to range from sculpture to painting, from graphic design to illustration. His works are held in major museums around the world, such as the Tate Gallery, the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Philadelphia Museum.

The images from Palazzo Blu will be accompanied by interviews with Giorgio Bacci, curator of the exhibition; Marcello Ciccuto, president of the Società Dantesca Italiana; Alberto Casadei, coordinator of the Dante Group of the Associazione degli Italianisti; and Cosimo Bracci Torsi, president of the Culture Commission of Fondazione Pisa.

Since it will be open to the public, the exhibition will remain open until July 18, 2021.
