In 2027, Panorama—the widespread, traveling exhibition organized by ITALICS—will usher in a new phase of its journey by choosing Genoa as the venue for its sixth edition. The event, scheduled for late June, will be curated by Arturo Galansino, art historian and general director of the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi in Florence.
The event, launched in 2021 on the initiative of the ITALICS network—which today brings together some sixty of Italy’s leading galleries specializing in ancient, modern, and contemporary art—is also introducing a significant change to its schedule. The move to early summer represents a strategic shift aimed at strengthening the event’s international profile, positioning it during a period more closely aligned with key events in the global art world and fostering broader participation from the public, collectors, professionals, and cultural operators.
Following stops in Procida, Monopoli, L’Aquila, Monferrato, and Pozzuoli, Panorama now arrives in the capital of Liguria. As a port open to the Mediterranean and a hub for encounters, trade, and cultural exchange, Genoa offers an ideal setting to foster the dialogue between art, heritage, and the local territory that lies at the heart of the event. The 2027 edition will also be an opportunity to highlight not only the city but the entire Ligurian cultural system, connecting urban centers, villages, and landscapes that help define the region’s identity.
With his appointment, Galansino takes up the baton from the curators who led previous editions: Vincenzo de Bellis (Procida 2021 and Monopoli 2022), Cristiana Perrella (L’Aquila 2023), Carlo Falciani (Monferrato 2024), and Chiara Parisi (Pozzuoli 2025). His curatorial project will be called upon to interpret the historical, urban, and cultural complexity of Genoa, transforming the city into a platform for dialogue between artworks, places, and communities.
In the fall of 2026, ITALICS will also publish a commemorative volume dedicated to the first five years of Panorama. Published by Allemandi, the book will bring together texts, images, and critical essays to retrace the experiences gained over the first five editions, while also offering an overview of the activities developed by the ITALICS network since its founding and marking the launch of this new phase of the event.
