No more crowding in the one-way Mona Lisa room. The Louvre reopens July 6

The Louvre reopens to the public from July 6 with changes in visitor routes and closed rooms. It will be possible to admire the Mona Lisa one way.

The Musée du Louvre will reopen its doors to visitors on July 6 with new visitor routes and all the necessary security measures for the health emergency. The room where the Mona Lisa is displayed will be one-way, with entry and exit through two separate doors: no more crowding in front of the famous painting that is the star of so many selfies. Some rooms will remain closed, such as those housing French sculpture from the Middle Ages and Renaissance, Renaissance, 18th-century and 19th-century decorative arts, the arts of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas, one floor of the Islamic art department, and the second floor of the French and Northern European painting collections.

The museum will be open daily, except Tuesdays, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and all visitors must reserve a time slot online. Use of a face mask and interpersonal distancing is mandatory.

The museum premises will be accessed from two entrances: from the Pyramid entrance for tickets booked according to certain time slots and from the Richelieu for visitors with membership cards and for groups.
Private guided tours will be allowed for groups of up to 25 people.
