Francesco Bancheri's solo exhibition opens at Punta Curva Gallery in Rome

The Curva Pura Gallery in Rome is hosting Francesco Bancheri's solo exhibition 'Pop Relic' from December 7, 2017 to January 6, 2018.

From Dec. 7, 2017 to Jan. 6, 2018, Curva Pura Gallery in Rome will showcase "Pop Relic," the solo exhibition of Francesco Bancheri. Born in 1978, Bancheri lives and works in Rome. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in scenography in 2001, he opened a workshop/studio for pictorial research, deepened his interest in photography and also worked as a set designer in different fields; in theater, in particular, in 2005 he signed the scenes for the Italian edition of the show “Concha Bonita” with music by Oscar winner Nicola Piovani and directed by Alfredo Arias.

Over the years the author of several solo and group exhibitions, in 2015 he participated in the creation of “INSIEME,” the work created by Maam artists at Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto in Biella. For the Museum of the Other and Elsewhere in Metropoliz he produces in 2014 a series of large-format collages, among which “Elephant in the room” stands out , a 3 x 4 m work dedicated precisely to the “inconvenient” museum. In August 2016 he takes part in the project “Mezzagalera” curated by Giorgio de Finis, an artistic residency project in the former prison of Montefiascone (VT ) where he makes a work dedicated to the residency space. In November 2016 he is a guest of Berlin’s Cell63 Gallery, currently Luisa Catucci Gallery, for the exhibition “Fantastic Metropolitan Creatures” curated by Luisa Catucci. In December 2016 he is a guest at the group exhibition “De Flora Et Fauna” curated by Stella Tasca, inside Palazzo Orsini in Bomarzo (VT). During 2017 Bancheri was on show at the Triphé Gallery in Rome with the exhibition RI/CIRCO/LI curated by Maria Laura Perilli, had a performative experience of “face2face” at the former prison of Montefiascone curated by Giorgio de Finis, a group exhibition at Macro Factory and one in Switzerland, and finally participated in the international residency BOCS in Cosenza curated by Alberto Dambruoso.

“Pop Relic” will showcase a series of canvases, objects and installations, which are metaphors for a contemporary reality that lives the paradox between decadence and “variety” in an ironic and at the same time “analytical” perspective.
