On view from November 24, 2017 to March 5, 2018 is the exhibition Andy Warhol. Sarzana is pop at the Fortezza Firmafede in Sarzana (La Spezia): more than two hundred works by Andy Warhol (Pittsburgh, 1928 - New York, 1987), all kept in private collections, with some pieces never before exhibited to the Italian public. Also present in the Sarzano exhibition are memorabilia, starting with the Commodore 64 Amiga that the company gave to Andy Warhol and with which the artist elaborated some portraits (among which is the very famous one of Debbie Harry).
The exhibition, curated by Eugenio Falcioni and Matteo Bellenghi, features silkscreens, illustrations, objects, magazines as well as a series of the American artist’s famous Polaroids. “With the Andy Warhol exhibition and its 200 works on display,” says Sarzana Mayor Alessio Cavarra, “Sarzana completes that leap forward that allows us to enter the circuit of Italian cities capable of hosting major art exhibitions, a goal we had set for ourselves and today we have proudly achieved.”
The exhibition is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Saturdays open until 11 p.m. For information visit www.eacs.it or the dedicated website www.andywarholsarzana.it/. Tickets: full price 10 euros, reduced for over 65, groups of at least 20 people, disabled and handicapped 10 euros, students from 6 to 14 years 6 euros, family ticket three people 25 euros, family ticket four people 30 euros.
