On the occasion of the 61st Venice Biennale, Finestre sull’Arte will temporarily relocate its editorial staff to Venice from May 5 to 9, 2026, during the days of the event preview. The operational headquarters will be Palazzo Smith - Casa Art Events, Cannaregio, which for the occasion will become a space dedicated to direct observation of the event and real-time journalistic production.
The initiative is part of the newspaper’s activity of reporting on current international art events through a direct presence in the places where the main contemporary events are developing. Palazzo Smith - Casa Art Events will be conceived as an open editorial office on the context of the Biennale and as a meeting point between information, confrontation and in-depth analysis. In the spaces of the palace, editorial work will be developed in close contact with artists, curators and protagonists of the contemporary scene. The editorial staff will produce journalistic content, interviews and news that will later be published in the newspaper, with the aim of offering an articulate and up-to-date reading of the Biennale and its many voices.
The decision to operate directly from Venice aims to strengthen the relationship between information and presence on the ground, between observation and participation, enhancing the dimension of storytelling in the field. In fact, the stable presence of the editorial staff during the days of the event will allow timely and in-depth coverage of the event, also fostering a more direct dialogue with the public. The initiative is made possible thanks to the support of Art-Events, a partner of Finestre sull’Arte, which contributed to the realization of the project and the operational presence of the editorial staff during the days of the Biennale.
